j I've heard a lot of Striborg in my day, but this is by far the clearest representation of Russell "Sin Nanna" Menzies's misery. This fusion of black metal atmosphere with coldwave and EBM is a strange sort of "left turn" for the longstanding, isolated Tasmanian artist, but it still FEELS like the damp misery of "Southwest Passage" and "Embittered Darkness", just through a new catalyst. Sometimes change is for the better, even when you didn't think it could get any better. Favorite track: The Curse of Sentience.

“Surprise of the year, however, comes from solo Tasmanian black metal artist Striborg who has turned his attention to creating blackwave, an electronic post black metal that sounds like an unholy alliance between Burzum and John Carpenter” THE WIRE magazine.

This is the new Striborg album in the style of Blackwave.
It incorporates from the electronic spectrum; Black Synthwave, Gothwave, Ghostwave, Darkwave, Coldwave, Black EBM / Electro, Dark Ambient, New Wave and Synth Pop.

Therefore this is definitely a kind of post black metal release.

The live title and closing track is an epic Industrial / Power Electronic / Drone piece.

This album is mostly a concept album about the conflict of being or my mid life crisis album.

The alternative title was Serotonin Depletion.

I had an epiphany for this album 4-5 months ago, although due to someone close in the family spending 2 months in hospital I couldn’t start work on it until the beginning of October.
Due to time restraints I decided to add the ambient piece and live noise track as a filler, omitting the original intended extra Blackwave tracks due to working a real job.
Because of my epiphany I wanted to release this ASAP.
It wasn’t rushed, I was OBSESSED and spent hours on it every day for 7 weeks straight.
